It is a coastal path that has become one of the most popular routes on the Costa Brava because of its beauty. There are not many people who have never heard of it. There is no record of its exact date of construction, so it is assumed that it is an ancient road whose purpose was to connect villages along the coast. Along the way, you will find different watchtowers, as during the period between the 12th and 18th centuries pirate attacks were rife in the area. This led many of the coastal towns to move a few kilometres inland to be able to flee or prevent the constant attacks before it was too late.<\/p>\n

Later, between the 19th and 20th centuries, the road became a strategic point for smugglers. Taking advantage of the abundant vegetation, the boats loaded with produce hid their merchandise. Therefore, the term “Camino de Ronda” became popular during this period, as it was the road taken by the Civil Guard to carry out “la ronda” (the patrol) and control illegal activities.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
